Well here is a long over due update on my 101 List! And time is flying by fast so if I want to come even close to finishing it, I better get on it!
4. Convert our home videos on VHS to digital.
I cannot take credit for this one, my sister beat me to it… And I am forever grateful! I feel so much better knowing our family videos aren’t only stored on an soon to be archaic VHS tapes. I’ve always loved home videos and when she went through all of them she even found some none of us had ever watched! So fun!
15. Experiment with film photography
It hardly counts, but I was able to give it a go with a camera I picked up at a thrift store. I put a roll in on the 4th of July and shot around. I love how some of them came out! It’s amazing how great film looks without any touch ups or edits to it. It was a bummer though that some shots didn’t turn out… And I learned that it’s near impossible to find any place you can drop film off at these days… apparently Walgreens is the only one for miles around!
19. Try 5 new restaurants in my area
#3 DeVere’s Pub (which we have made several repeat visits to in the past 6 months…)
#4 Athenian Grill (very tasty Greek food right on the Suisun waterfront)
31. Watch The Godfather
I feel there are certain “must see” movies everyone should watch in their life. And before I even saw it, I knew The Godfather was one of those.
“I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse”…
35. Submit a wedding/session to a Style Blog
I am so glad I was able to check this off my list! Back in April I put on a huge shoot, along with an amazing team of wedding vendors, and it resulted in the Pride and Prejudice wedding shoot I submitted to Le Magnifique for their styled shoot contest… even better – we got second place!
36. Get published on a Style Blog
I was published on not one, but two blogs last year! You can see my Pride & Prejudice Wedding shoot HERE, my Ireland travel photos HERE, and a fun French Country Wedding HERE! Big thanks to Le Magnifique and On the Go Bride!
43. Shoot a wedding out of state
Back in August, I was able to do this and I had so much fun! And because it was for a childhood friend, not only was I able to complete an item on my 101, I was able to see lots of good friends at the wedding. Win-win! 🙂
44. Get to 1,000 likes on facebook
I was able to complete this one and then some! So crazy that there are over 1,000 facebookers out there who have taken the time to like my page and follow my work. Thank you so much!!
50. Have a fondue party
We had a fondue party on New Years Eve and it was so much fun. I officially think New Years Eve is the perfect night for fondue now… Fondue isn’t exactly a meal that you can rush through, and on NYE you have quite a few more hours to fill than most evenings. Plus fondue is delicious, I’ve actually been craving it ever since…!
71. Finish filming my Grandma’s “history” as narrated by her
Completing this means so much to me! My 88 year old Grandma is not one to enjoy being photographed, let alone video taped. But was able to sit her down and film her for over an hour and I cannot wait to put it altogether once I have it edited. Just knowing that I have all those memories documented means the world to me though.
72. Do an engagement/couples session with the Golden Gate in the background
I was able to do this not once, but twice in 2013! Once with Kristen during an engagement shoot and once with Caleb & Alyssa (although it was a bit hard to see the Golden Gate through the fog… I promise it’s there!)
84. Help someone accomplish something on their 101 in 1001 list or on their bucket list!
Kirsty #6: Go to San Francisco (I took Kirsty to the city by the bay for a fun day visiting San Francisco before she moved!)
Jessica #20: Visit a Castle in Ireland (see our Ireland adventures) #75: Figure out my 2010 taxes (just call me the tax master)
#97: Do a photoshoot with Spice (Sadly Spice passed away a few months later, so glad we didn’t put that one off…)
Kristen #62: Go to San Francisco (once again I helped someone get to San Francisco! As a matter of fact, I’ve gone with Kristen twice now! Double check!)
81. Have the “first” fire in my fireplace
Even though we had an unseasonably warm December, having a fire in the my fireplace was something I knew I HAD to do this year. I was a bit worried I would do something wrong and fill my house with smoke… but as seeing that didn’t happen I would say it was a success! Hurray for cozy Christmas fires 🙂
Whew! So that’s some of the stuff I’ve been up to the past, oh 6 months or so! 🙂
