I am so excited to share the wedding of Ethan and Ashley. The bride, Ashley, is incredibly special to me. I’ve known her almost her whole life – and definitely babysat her when she was little! It’s the craziest thing when people you knew as babies grow up and start getting married! The other special thing is that their love story is the kind you can only dream of and has been years & years in the making. You tend to hear that it is unlikely that you will marry your first crush, but that is not the case for these two. Ethan and Ashley fell for each other early on and and the years have lead them up to this amazing day – their wedding! It took a lot of patience on their parts, but they trusted God in their relationship and I would say it was worth the wait because they are now married to their best friend.
I traveled to Texas to capture this day which was held in the prettiest spot at Zedler Mill. The ceremony site overlooked an aqua-blue pool and was shaded by large trees. So beautiful. Ashley was without a doubt breath-takingly gorgeous. A few other highlights – so many details and decor that added such a special touch (I loved the tea cup center pieces!!), songs that were beautifully sung by not only the bride and groom but also siblings, and the dancing! These two had contra dancing during the reception and let me just say that I wanted to join in so badly because it looked so fun! The music just makes you want to dance. My favorite part of the day though had to be during Ashley and Ethan’s first dance to ‘When God Made You’. All the guests circled around and towards the end of the song, when the music would build, everyone would rush in and surround them in the biggest group hug you’ve ever seen. I guess it is hard to describe, but it brought tears to my eyes just how much love you could feel in the room at that moment.
