Sometimes before a photoshoot I start to visualize what the images will look like and what sort of feel they will have. When we picked this gorgeous meadow/forest for Berto & the beautiful Briana’s engagement session I was excited because I knew we had an amazing location to work with. What I was not expecting that May afternoon was to be faced with completely rainy and foggy conditions. Word to the wise, just because the weather is normal and not rainy at the bottom of the mountain does NOT mean that there will be no rain at the top of the mountain, especially when said mountain is basically engulfed in a cloud! That was the case for us… I almost completely drove past the spot we were supposed to shoot at because of how foggy it was! I wasn’t sure if Berto & Bri would want to go through with the shoot, but because they are basically rockstars they agreed to and I am SO happy they did. It wasn’t exactly the shoot I imagined in my mind to begin with, but there is no way we would have ever gotten the romantic and dramatic images that we did if it hadn’t been for the rain. It would also be a lie if I said that the image of Mr. Darcy walking across the foggy meadow didn’t cross my mind…
Thank you Berto and Bri for braving the elements with me! I had so much fun!
Shannon, this photos shoot would not have been as beautiful if the day had been sunny and dry. The fog and rain were a perfect companion to all the moss covered boulders and those magnificent trees. Awesome pics!
The long shot with the mossy trees at the top is PERFECT!
Um, can we say “Notebook”?! Awesome!
I love it!
This shoot is amazing. I cannot begin to express how captivating. I love the location. Where is this beautiful place?
Thank you Shannon! We shot it on Mt. Tamalpais in Northern California. The rain/fog made everything magical!
